Chalmers has two visitors from Fraunhofer ISI in Germany, here next week. Till Gnann and Simon Funke work on electric vehicles, market potential of EVs and charging infrastructure.
They will give one short seminar each.
Simon Funke and Till Gnann, visitors from Fraunhofer ISI located at Karlsruhe, Germany, will give two short talks during lunch break on Thursday, December, 7th. Simon Funke will first talk about the usage and market potentials of battery electric vehicles versus plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. He shows economical use cases and also ecological benefits with both solutions and will talk about these. Till Gnann will
then give a talk about the load shift potentials of plug-in electric
vehicles with different charging options in Germany in 2030. He
therefore shows the potential market diffusion and the influence of
different charging infrastructure options with a market diffusion model until 2030 followed by a simulation of load shifting in a dedicated energy systems model that covers all other appliances as well. Both talks stem from conferences and are based on publications that have recently been published/accepted for publication. The talks will each be about 15 minutes presentation and about 15 minutes Q&A.
About the visitors:
Simon Funke is a Research Associate at the Competence Center Energy Technology and Energy Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovations research. He studied industrial engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, and Universidad de València, Spain. Areas of interest: renewable energies and automotive technology, special interest in alternative drive systems.
Till Gnann received a PhD from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for his research on the co-diffusion of electric vehicles and their charging infrastructure which is still focus of his research. He is working as senior scientist in the Competence Center Energy Technology and Energy Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI.
