SUMMARY:Theme 2 – Manufacturing of Electrical Machines
DESCRIPTION:Swedish Electromobility Centre and Theme 2 Electric Drives and Charging are happy to welcome you to the workshop Manufacturing of Electrical Machines. The impact of electric machine manufacturing on electric drive performance is an important issue within e-mobility research and has been the focus of several projects within SEC. Currently\, there is an SEC associate project named Manufacturing Effects in Electric Machines (MEEM)\, which is a follow-up from a pre-study of the same name completed in SEC Phase IV\, and many more notable works outside of the SEC regarding this interesting topic. \n  \nIn this workshop\, we will receive information on the aforementioned pre-study and the ongoing associated project MEEM. Moreover\, there will be guest speakers from academia and industry to present their research and exciting findings regarding machine manufacturing\, followed by a discussion session. This workshop is gracefully hosted by BorgWarner at their facilities at Landskrona and therefore there will be a BorgWarner factory tour of two production lines for traction machines\, one utilizing a continuous and one with conventional hairpin winding\, furthermore a presentation from BorgWarner regarding their efforts in machine manufacturing. \n  \nYou are all most welcome! \n  \n

SUMMARY:SEC PhD Student Writing Bootcamp (31 May–2 June\, 2022)
DESCRIPTION:It is a common saying that writing is 90% procrastination and 30% panic (and perhaps 20% being bad at maths). The purpose of the SEC PhD Student Writing Bootcamp is to move beyond this view by learning about methods for more productive writing. \n  \nBackground \nMost PhD students say that their most important challenges when writing is getting started and staying productive. Still\, most writing instruction focuses on technical aspects of writing\, such as structuring a text\, handling references\, and developing academic style. For this reason\, our Bootcamp will focus on methods for efficient and productive writing. \n  \nFormat \nThe Bootcamp consists of a mix of instruction\, discussion and actual writing. Afterward\, you will probably find that you not only developed your writing skills but also got a lot of writing done! For this reason\, participants should bring a text to work with. It could be a part of a research paper in the making\, a thesis\, a project application\, or simply a plan for the next steps of your research. It can be a text at any level of preparation – the main purpose is to have something to work with during the writing sessions. \nFor a preliminary schedule\, see further down. \n  \nYou will learn about: \n\nHow to avoid procrastination when writing\nHow to maintain your focus\nHow to structure an efficient writing process\nHow to give and take feedback\nFree-writing\nWriting snacks\nUseful exercises for body and mind\n\n  \nPractical information \nRegistration: \nRegistration is now open. \n  \nA number of participants: \nWe can accommodate 32 participants. SUMMARY:Energibärare för hållbara transporter
\nThe seminar will be held in Swedish.
