SEC’s doctoral network arranged a writing bootcamp at Lund University on 8–10 December, with the purpose to make writing more productive and easier to initiate.
The participants took part in a mix of instruction, group discussions, and hands‑on writing sessions. Each student brought along a text that could be anything from a paper draft to a thesis chapter or a project proposal to work with during the writing sessions. Topics included avoiding procrastination, improving focus, writing efficiently, giving and receiving feedback, and using tools such as free‑writing and “writing snacks” to support productivity.
The Bootcamp concluded with a surprise visit from Marie Dacke, professor of sensory biology, IgNobel Prize winner for her dung beetle research, and well-known face from SVT’s Studio Natur. Dacke shared insights from her popular science books and offered her best tips for staying inspired and productive as a writer.
