When SEC Theme Electric Drives & Charging arranged a whole-day seminar on testing and development of power electronics, it turned out to be even more popular than the organizers had anticipated in beforehand. There were almost 40 happy participants that listened to five very interesting presentations.
First out was Horst Hammerer from AVL that gave a keynote presentation on the “Copper Car” – a novel initiative from AVL that blends simulation, emulation in a cost efficient way with the real world. Then Vineetha Ravindran from Scania detailed learnings from the development of Scania’s electric powertrains. Xiaoliang Huang from RISE gave insights from emerging inverter technologies and Chandel Anupsingh from Inmotion gave a manufacturer’s view on inverter testing and development with a special twist to functional safety. Zhang Chi from Volvo Cars finalised the morning session by presenting a multi-physics design approach for inverters. The afternoon was hosted by SEEL who gave a very interesting introduction to the facilities and opportunities at Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory’s facilities in Nykvarn, many thanks to David Ekholm, Tobias Berin and Pär Ingelström. Finally, a special thanks to Ninos Poli at Scania for hosting the venue.
