SEC Doctoral Student Network Summer School on Components and Systems for Electromobility

Swedish Electromobility Centre and the SEC Doctoral Student Network are pleased to invite doctoral students and SEC’s industrial partners to this year’s Summer School, focusing on Components and System Studies for Electromobility, with particular emphasis on battery electric and fuel cell electric vehicles. This year, the Summer School will be held at Hedenlunda Slott in Flen, a peaceful and inspiring venue whose historic charm and beautiful natural surroundings provide an ideal setting for reflection, learning, and collaboration.
Format
The Ph.D. course is intended for Ph.D. students within the SEC doctoral student network and employees of the SEC industrial partners in the field of e-mobility. The Summer School consists of lectures and practical exercises on the five themes in SEC, as well as a home assignment.

The lectures will be led by theme leaders and their colleagues, and several networking opportunities will take place during the course.
The school starts at 12:00 on 22 June, and lectures begin at 13:15. We would like everyone to attend the welcome lunch, but if you’re traveling a long distance and can’t arrive until 13:15, please let us know by emailing us at phd@emobilitycentre.se.
After the Summer School, we will meet again so you can present your home assignment. Information about the date and location will be provided soon.
Practical information
Examination and Credits: Assessment is based on attendance and completion of the home assignment. To pass the course, participants are required to complete the assignment and deliver a final project presentation. The proposed number of credits is 5 hp.
NB! To apply for these credits within your Ph.D. course curriculum, you need approval from your examiner.

Hedenlunda Slott is located in the scenic countryside of Sörmland, just outside Flen. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes, the castle offers a peaceful and inspiring setting ideal for reflection, learning, and collaboration. Course material
Most of the materials you need will be provided during the week. Some exercises will involve using MATLAB. If you have access to the program, ensure it is installed on your computer. If not, you can work with someone who has it installed.
Cost
The Summer School fee is SEK 9,000 (excluding VAT) per person for Ph.D. students from academia and SEC industry partners. Employees from SEC industry partners may attend, subject to availability, at a cost of SEK 10,000 (excluding VAT) per person. SEC will send the invoice after the course week. Please have your billing details ready when you register.
The cost will cover:
- Accommodation in single rooms for four nights (Monday-Friday) at Hedenlunda Slott
- All meals included (breakfast, fika, lunch, and dinner)
- Participation fee for the course
- Registration and billing
Cancellation policy
Cancellation before 19 May at no charge.
Cancellation after 19 May, you will be charged 100% of the fee.
Travel
You need to arrange and pay for your own travel to and from the course location. Directions for Hedenlunda Slott will be sent to those who register.
