Webinar: Energy Infrastructure and Grid Impacts of Electrified Transport in Sweden

5 June,13:00-14:00

Theme (5) Vehicle–Grid Interactions invites SEC partners to this webinar that summarizes the main findings from Alice Callanan and Theres Lundblad’s PhD theses. The work was conducted within the framework of two projects funded by SEC.

The first thesis deals with how large-scale transport electrification affects the electric power system. Using probabilistic simulations and realistic transport and grid models, the work investigated how charging demand from electric vehicles impacts grid capacity in southern Sweden, with a particular focus on the sub-transmission grid.

The second thesis investigates the interaction between electricity systems and road transport, with a particular focus on the impact of increasing electric vehicle adoption on low-voltage distribution grids and the associated infrastructure requirements in Sweden. The dependency on charging behaviour and network tariff design are investigated, showing a trade-off between maximizing charging flexibility and minimizing grid stress.

The presenters will be Alice Callanan (PhD, Lund University) and Maria Taljegård (Associate Prof., Chalmers).

A meeting link will be sent to registered participants.
