We are happy to announce that the Swedish Electromobility Centre will continue as a competence centre. The Swedish Energy Agency has decided to prolong the funding for five more years.
SEC started in 2007 and has since then been established as the national competence centre, bringing together academia, industry, and public actors to advance e-mobility research.
“I’m very happy that the Swedish Energy Agency, together with the academic and industry partners, has decided to keep investing in industry-relevant research driving electromobility forward. There is a lot of important work ahead, and we have already started the planning. It will be exciting to see what progress the next five years will bring”, says Linda Olofsson, Director of SEC.
As a part of the application process for a continuation, the Swedish Energy Agency carried out a follow-up evaluation, in which SEC received positive remarks.
“SEC is a solid centre producing great research and competence. It’s a well-set-up organization with a lot of professionalism in all its parts. Therefore, I wasn’t surprised that the centre performed well in the evaluation”, says Klaas Burgdorf, SEC’s Research Program Manager.
The competence centre initiative is a joint effort, in which the Swedish Energy Agency contributes one third of the funding, and the remaining two thirds come from higher education institutions, research institutes, industry, and public sector actors. SEC is one of eleven Swedish Energy Agency’s competence centres.
